Dove Monumen at Padang Beach
Padang Beach (Pantai Padang) or Taplau, abbreviation of Tapi Lauik (Minagkabau local language) or the waterfront, is a beautiful beach that located near to the center of Padang City. This beach is located on densely populated urban area in the district of Padang Barat, and stretches from the Purus up to the mouth of the Batang Arau. The water itself is so blue and the sand is a broken-white, that’s a great combination for a beach. The beach is located approximately 23 km from Minangkabau International Airport or 30 minutes by car road trip. In this beach, we can find a Dove of Peace Monument rises to eight meters. This monument was inaugurated by President of Indonesia in 12 April 2016. The design of the monument resembling origami paper which describes peace as vulnerable. The purpose of the building itself is to evoke the spirit of peace to the soul of the community. Near to the Dove of Peace Monument, there is a Muaro Lasak Park that made by the local government for the visitor. There is so many people come there to see the sunset with family and partner.
